Helen Geneva Glazebrook, or Gene as most people knew her, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009. Born on March 21, 1925 to Rolland and Murtie Cline in Baisden, West Virginia, she was a true "Coal Miners Daughter".
Gene was blessed with two children, Larry Lester and Patty Pedersen. Larry Lester, the oldest child who preceded her in death lived in Grove City, Ohio. Patty Pedersen lives with her husband, Don and family in North Branch, Minnesota.
Gene was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Glazebrook. Married the 4th of August in 1955, they spent a majority of their shared life in Orlando, Florida enjoying their beautiful home and incredible weather.
Gene was the only daughter with five brothers, Carl, Charles, Euland, Harley and Jerry. All of her brothers, except Jerry Cline have preceded her in death. Jerry resides here in Florida.
With only two children she was blessed with an abundance of extended family. Anyone who know Gene knew they could always find her in her garden or yard making use of her time with nature. Her home was an exceptional example of how much time and love was put into it. Everything was picture perfect and without flaw. People who know her also got to know the feisty person who held tightly to her independence. Her strong will and intensity in life was evident to her very last day. Gene loved to cook and be in her kitchen. Her family will often talk about her favorite dishes and how those recipes cannot be copied. She had a way of creating the masterpiece that was raved about for months.
Gene had a large family but it didn't stop at blood. Gene's neighbors became such an intricate part of her life and she valued that so much. Many conversations were composed of Gene telling her family members how terribly wonderful one the neighbors had been to her. She felt so privileged to be blessed with all of them.
Helen Geneva Glazebrook was a wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, aunt, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered. Her journey through life left many footprints and each one with a living memory
