Helene Copper Chase (Scarlata) age 69 passed away on Tuesday , January 21, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Copper was born in Scranton Pennsylvania and grew up in Flushing (Queens) New York and Fairfax , Virginia. Copper lived most of her adult life in Linthicum, MD where she worked at US AIRWAYS for 20 years.
She retired to Orlando where she worked 10 years at Walt Disney World as a cast member. She was well known and loved as "the Fairy Godmother"
Copper was known for her fiery red hair , kindred outgoing spirit and beautiful contagious smile. She loved her family, mermaids, flamingos and the beach. She loved cooking, shopping, traveling and spending time with her family at "Camp Chase" where she created lasting memories. She adored her dogs Bitsy, Brutus and Boo.
Copper is survived by her husband of 50 years Rex Chase, her daughter Jolene Viano, of Heathrow, her son Bumper Chase of Baltimore, her son Anthony Chase of Baltimore, his longtime girlfriend Diana Parks as well as her former son in law Rich Viano. Her grandchildren, Nick Viano, Carter Viano , Brennan Chase, Kenzie Chase and Ren Chase. Cooper is also survived by her sisters Jodi Scarlata, Gina Harris , her brother in law Joe Harris , nephew Devon Harris, his wife Caitlyn Harris, niece Taylor McMahon her husband Brandon McMahon , nephew Joey Harris , niece Brooke Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helene Scarlata (Mahon).
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral home in Orlando this Saturday, January 25th with visitation @ 1:00 pm and services at 2:00pm.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that monetary Donations be made to St Jude's in Copper's name.
