Homer Franklin Long, age 82, of Bushnell, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born in Dunlap, Tennessee to Frank Milton and Dora Belle (Camp) Long.
Homer moved to Orlando with his family in the mid-1950s, where he worked many years at Atlas Vaults. In 1976, Homer and Carl Anderson founded Dial Septic Tank Service, Inc. from which Homer retired.
Homer was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 38 years, Carolyn Ruth (Wilson) Long; his son, James Edward Long; his parents; sisters Freda (Susie) Long Parrot and Rita Long Douglas; and his brothers Edd Long, Steve Long, Anthony Long, and Leonard Long.
Homer is survived by his sons Tom Wooden of Orlando and Michael (Rachel) Long of Oroville, California; his daughters Marianne Marks of Maitland; Lorianne (John) Lopez of Atlanta, Georgia; and Sherri (Kenneth) Roy of Orlando; his sisters Anita Long Tucker Coon of Dunlap, Tennessee; Tina Long Batten of McMinnville, Tennessee; and Mary Ellen Wilson Farmer of Orlando; his brother David Long of Greenville, South Carolina, as well as his grandchildren, John D. Lopez, Jr., Robert F. Marks, Frederick Marks, Kathleen M. Cormier, Jacqueline Tafolla, Cierra N. Barrera and Kenneth J. Roy, and great-grandchildren, Ava L. Barrera, Selena Tafolla, Archimedes Winslow, Scarlett L. Barrera and Alexander Tafolla, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at Newcomer Winter Park Chapel, 3806 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, Florida. Interment will follow at All Faiths Memorial Park, 1390 Park Drive, Casselberry, Florida.
