Hy Tinh Lyton of Lake Mary, Florida passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the age of 91. The world lost a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Hy passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Hy was born in Binh Dinh, Vietnam on October 5, 1929 to father Lý Hoi and mother Bui Th? Tài.
He lived in Vietnam until 1972 when he left to pursue his studies in Canada. Hy became a Canadian citizen before he eventually moved to the United States and made Connecticut his home. His work ethic and desire to help others led to his path of working at Catholic Charities while teaching math and science at Hartford Public High School until his retirement. Hy made an impact on many families in the Connecticut area by helping many refugee families with their fresh start in the United States. Hy was selfless with his efforts to help many that knew him, if he was not working to get families settled in their new country, he was teaching students to whom he made such an impact that they stayed in touch long after graduation, and to helping friends and family with anything they needed. If you ask Hy, his greatest passion in life besides his faith, it would be his family. He loved all of his four children and loved his nine grandchildren even more. He cared for some of the grandchildren since they were tiny tots and watched them grow into young adults.
Hy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Lý Hào Phú Lý Long V?ng Lý C?u. He was survived by his wife Saysamone, his children Mani Vone, Christina Inthavong Holmes (Dale), Terra Maniscalchi (Todd), Sing Inthavong (Susada), his grandchildren, Vilay, Chinda, MJ, Tia, Nona, TJ, Caitlyn, Sage, Sean, and Collin, and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews throughout the world.
