Ilia Milagros Cox, age 91, of Orange City, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by love and family. She was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico on December 4, 1930 to father, Domingo and mother, Nicolasa (Ramos) Veve.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Martin; granddaughter, Amberly Laines; grandson, Robert Martin; brother, Rafael Veve; Goddaughter, Elba Corretjer; son-In-law, Danny Martin; 8 great-grandchildren who she dearly loved.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, Domingo & Nicolasa Veve, grandson, Daniel Martin, 3 sisters, Delia Rodriguez, Hilda Elosegui, Telo Ariles and life long friend, Elba (mama) Corretjer.
Ilia was the most patient, understanding, loving person to everyone. She was always ready to help no matter who you were, the circumstances, and never judged!! She was the peace maker, problem solver and heart of the family!
She met her husband while he was stationed in Puerto Rico. They adopted their daughter, Rita in 1958 when she was just 5 days old. She was a pharmacist until they moved to the states; when Rita was 14- years-old. Then she became a full-time stay at home mom. Her husband passed in 1988 and since then she has been independent. She helped raised her grandchildren and was fortunate to be a part of her great-grandchildren's lives.
The family will forever miss her but knows she has not left them for good; just for a little while! She is not in pain nor confused but at peace.
