A Queen of many Hearts, Inocencia Rodriguez, age 91, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19th, 2023, at home in the presence of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago Rodriguez and Guillerma Rodriguez Valle.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Rodriguez, son-in law, Hiram Gonzalez, daughter, Carolyn Rodriguez, son, Nelson Rodriguez, grandchildren, Jennifer Gonzalez, Vanessa Gonzalez, Theo Fuentes, Richard Fuentes, Hiram N. Gonzalez, and Angelique Gonzalez.
Inocencia was born on January 14th, 1932 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to a large family. She grew up with a fondness and passion for family that she shared with everyone she met. She always kept an open door for anyone in need and found ways to lend a helping hand wherever she could. She loved others fiercely and without reservation.
Her home was often filled with the sound of laughter, the smell of delicious home cooking, and the sight of friends and family gathered to hear her tell animated stories of the past. Inocencia loved to make jokes and her cheerful spirit was just as contagious as her laughter.
She enjoyed music and dancing and could often be found singing joyously at family parties. For fun, she enjoyed trying her luck at the Casino, playing the lottery, watching novelas, and playing dominoes with her family and friends.
Her nurturing spirit extended to all aspects of her life. She was an avid gardener with an infamous green thumb who could bring plants back to life and make the toughest of them blossom. Inocencia loved to cook and feed her friends and family, she often made note of everyone's favorite dishes so she could surprise them on special occasions.
For many, Inocencia Rodriguez was the adopted mother, aunt, sister, and grandma they never had. She never missed an opportunity to make you feel welcomed, seen, and loved. How she made people feel will carry on in countless hearts.
To mirror Inocencia's vibrant spirit, we ask that you please wear red to her visitation (or bright colors in the red family) to celebrate how she lived her life.
Visitation is Friday, February 24th, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with funeral service on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Winter Park Chapel), 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, Florida 32792.
Inocencia's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
In lieu of cut flowers, the family would like to make a memory garden with planters, herbs and vegetable plants in her honor. Or a donation to the American Cancer Society.
