Our beloved mother, Isaaf Hachwa, who was born in Hama, Syria and was raised in Homs, Syria. Even though she was not the oldest of her five sisters, in her actions, she acted like the oldest. She was always there for them whenever they needed her. She also helped her parents with the support of their children by working as a hairdresser. She was well known for her hairdressing talent.
In 1958, she got married to her beloved husband, Fouad Sarkis, who treated her like gold. The Lord blessed them with three loving children and four beautiful grandchildren. She raised her children in a loving, caring and respectable manner. Always teaching them to be good to others, regardless of how others treated them. Every opportunity she had with us, she was always drilling in our heads Right from Wrong. She taught us to be honest in everything we do, in our work, family, friends etc... Because our dad was away on business most of the time, she was forced to be the mom and the dad to us. She also worked to help her husband with the upbringing of their children. Always depriving herself in order to give to her children and others in need. Her heart's desire was to help the needy.
She was straight forward with everyone. She tells it as she sees it. Not everyone appreciated it, but, she did not like beating around the bush. We thank God that after many years, we were able to somewhat repay our mom for what she did for us. Our mom loved the Lord with all of her heart. Always praying and giving thanks to Him. We are grateful that she did not suffer the last days/hours of her life. She was not in pain or agony. She went to be with the Lord peacefully in the arms and home of her loved ones. We will miss you mom.
