Isaiah S. Evans, Sr. (AKA-Ike) was born on February 17, 1927 in Waynesboro, Georgia. He was born to the late John and Ella Brown Evans. He received his education in the Burke County Public School system. He started his college life at North Carolina A&T, and later served in the United States Army as a WWII Veteran he received an honorably discharged. Ike held many professions over the course of his life including: Accountant, Foreman, and Company Driver. He moved to Stanford, Connecticut, where he met and married the late Dorothy G. (Barrett) Evans in 1957. In this union they were blessed with one child.
Ike was a dedicated and hard-working man that valued his family. He was committed to hard work and a willingness to help others. He provided counsel and guidance to many. His favorite words to say were, "Don't ask for a handout, but a hand up."
Ike was a versatile and extraordinary businessman. He also loved being a good son to his father John, who was a mentor, a coach, an inspiration, a voice, a perfect example of someone who stands for everything right. He loved his family and friends passionately and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: Son, Isaiah S. Evans, Jr, Daughter in Law Sherri Evans, Granddaughter, Taylor Evans, Grandson, Isaiah Evans, III (Trey), One brother, the Late Eugene Brown of St. Petersburg, FL, Nice, Juanita Brown of St. Petersburg, FL, Cousin, Elinor 'Margie' McMillan of Orlando, and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 10am to 11:30am with funeral service starting at 11:30am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (East Orlando Chapel).
Burial will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
