Ivy Mae Shaw
February 7, 1947 — April 2, 2015
Ivy Mae (Hemmings) Shaw, 68 of LaBelle, FL went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 2, 2015 after a prolonged illness.
Ivy was born and raised in St. Mary, Jamaica. She lived in Queens, NY before settling in LaBelle, Florida. Ivy was a gentle nurturing soul who dedicated her life to helping others as a geriatric nurse.
Ivy was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She spent much of her time singing, studying the bible, and caring for others.
Ivy was preceded in death by her parents Isaiah and Beatrice Hemmings, three brothers, two sisters, and her husband alexander Shaw.
Ivy is survived by her children, Faithlyn (James) Ford of Apopka, Ainsworth (Shannon) Shaw of Longwood, Avery (Melinda) Shaw of Riverview, Matthew (Ashley) Shaw of Winter Springs and Karen Shaw of Boston, Massachusetts; siblings Winifred "Cassie" Allen, Evelyn "Birdie" Ellis, and Linnette "Lynn" Campbell; grandchildren Anquan, Javarrie, Elsella, and Jayda, and a host of nieces and nephews.
