We were blessed to receive him on this earth on September 22, 1960 born to Jackie Earl Pope, Sr. and Ethel Irene Pope.
Devoted husband and father to his loving wife of 40 years, Silena Marie Pope; daughter, Diana Marie Jenkins and son, Jackie Earl Pope, III. Survived by his brother, Tony Edward Pope; sister, Cheryl Lynn Gentry, and many nieces and nephews along with a loving extended family. Jackie Earl Pope, Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Earl Pope, Sr.
Jackie worked proudly for the Space Shuttle program from 1987 to 2011 at the Kennedy Space Center as a Quality Control Supervisor. His career spanned the life of the Space Shuttle program supporting international emergency landing sites.
Jackie "Jack" Earl Pope, Jr., a true 'Jack of all trades' was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was adventurous, generous, and loved many hobbies over the years. He lived big and treated his friends like family, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was willing to talk and get to know anyone; he never met a stranger. He would always be there for those he loved. A regular at local diners and loved by the staff, his heart was big and he looked forward to visiting his favorite spots. Jackie touched many people's lives and will forever be missed by so many family and friends.
Jackie loved children and it was the primary reason he became a Mason and a Shriner. He was the 'neighborhood Dad' and you could find him playing front yard games with the neighborhood kids and buying them ice cream from the ice cream truck.
