James E. Taylor, Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend

James E. “Jim” Taylor, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. He was native of Alabama and longtime resident of Daphne, Alabama, in his youth, and of Longwood, Florida, in later years. Jim was known for his dedication to family and friends and had an active life filled with fishing, gardening, and golf.

Jim had proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for eight years (1959-1967). He retired in 2001, after a successful 30-year career with General Electric, where he worked in sales for electrical distribution. Jim had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hitting the golf course and cultivating his butterfly garden.

Jim is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Patricia G. Taylor, their children Laura (David) Chadwick, Allison (John Welch) Taylor and Wade (Debbi) Taylor; grandchildren Kelsey Morris and Kaitlyn Taylor; and siblings, Jeanette (Claude) Puckett, Gene Taylor, and Wanda Entrekin as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford D. Taylor and Marie Taylor of Daphne, Alabama; three sisters, Faye (Tim) O'Connor, Jane McWilliams, and Linda (Ed) Witherington; and three brothers, Richard D. (Martha Jo) Taylor, Robert Taylor, and Larry Taylor. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will be forever missed by those who knew him.

Memorial Service Information The family will have a private service in Longwood, Florida, on January 13, 2025; and is planning to have a celebration of life event in Alabama at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or your favorite charity.
