James D. Fahr, age 68, of Orlando, FL passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday May 3, 2016.
James was born on November 4, 1947 in Montgomery, AL. He was a military brat and eventually joined the United States Army Special Forces. James served our country during the Vietnam War 1967-1972. Although James had many early occupations, he found his passion as a Master Gardner in horticulture when he joined Walt Disney World in 1996 until he retired in 2015.
James was a beloved husband and best friend to the loved of his life, Edwina (Winnie) Fahr of Orlando, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie (Boartfield) Fahr of Orlando. Survivors include his siblings, John Fahr (Shayne) of Portland, TN, Diane Fahr (Susan Baxter) of Orlando; daughters, Jennifer Fahr of Prosser, WA, MaryLyn Clark of Orlando, FL, Kristen Tveit (Tim) of Oviedo, FL, LeeAnn Lyle of Orlando, FL, and Kimberly Davidson (Ron) of Cumming, GA; 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
From captivating a room with his stories, to playing a game of pool, singing "Bad to the Bone," or showing off his muscles, James left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Life is like a garden, perfect moments can be had, but not preserved except in memory.
Visitation is Saturday May 14, 2016 from 1pm to 3pm with memorial service starting at 3pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel).
