James Elwin Foster

August 11, 1940 — February 2, 2024

James E Foster, Orlando Fl, 83, passed away on February 2, 2024 after a long battle with liver and lung cancer. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Marie Allen of Forks, Washington, Clayton Foster of Eureka, California and his younger sister Joyce Warren of Forks Washington.

He is survived by his wife Haruko Foster of 44 years, the love of his life, his son Terry Foster and grandson Trent Foster of Virginia. Sisters, Jackie Louthan and Jodie Keeney of Forks, Washington. Step children David Coqueran, Paul Coqueran of Orlando, Florida and step daughter Kim Coqueran of Jacksonville, Florida. Step-Granddaughter Danielle Coqueran of Orlando, Florida. Many great nieces and nephews in Washington State.

Jim graduated from Forks High School in 1958. After graduation, he joined the Marine Corps. He went in for four years, 1958 to 1962, he got out as the Cuban Missle Crisis was going on. He came back into the Marines in March of 1965 to go to Vietnam. He stayed in and retired September 1986, 25 years active. While in the Marine Corps, he served in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Marine divisions. Started out, 1st Force Recon Company, 1st Battalion 5th Marines, 1st Battalion 9th Marines, 1st Battalion 1st Marines, 7th Engineers, Bulk Fuel Company, 5th LAAM, Marine Corps, Service Scupport School Instructor. He was stationed in Camp Pendleton California, Yuma Arizona, Tucson Arizona, Several places in Okinawa Japan, Raleigh North Carolina, and Camp Lejeune North Carolina. He also went to Hawaii, Guam, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Iwo Jima and Taiwan.

After Jim retired from the Marine Corps, he worked for the City of Orlando for 15 years doing purchasing with Fleet Maintenance as a Senior Property Clerk. He retired from the City on April 1, 2002 at age 62 and got Social Security and started travelling all over the States with his wife and enjoyed life. He experienced the Japanese festivals in North Carolina, visited Biloxi Mississippi, Arizona, Reno, Las Vegas, Texas, several trips to Forks Washington to see family, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Sturgis and all sites in between.

Jim loved motorcycling, family, and loved to travel.
