James Patrick Gallagher

James Patrick Gallagher, age 77, of Orlando, FL passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Jim was born on March 22, 1945 in Rochester, NY, son to his late parents Fran and Annie (Sperath) Gallagher. He was a proud United States Navy veteran, serving from 1964 to his honorable discharge in 1967. In early 1968, he married his longtime companion, the former Yvonne Capierseho.

Jim had a brief stint working for Honeywell, and then transitioned into the security industry where he worked for Los Angeles County Sheriff's department, and the United States Government before his retirement in April of 2018. Later, Jim and Yvonne relocated to the Orlando area.

Jim was a lover of animals, the family always had many dogs and cats. He was a proud American, he loved his country, his time in the Navy, and proudly raising his American flag. Most of all, Jim will be remembered fondly as a loving and devoted husband, and a caring father to his son, Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Gallagher of Orlando; their son, Scott Gallagher and his wife, Crystal, Chesapeaka, VA; two grandchildren, Dalton and Colton Gallagher; two brothers, Fran Gallagher and his wife, Jane, of Penfield, NY, and Jack Gallagher from Chesapeake, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, his sister, Alice, and a brother, Bob.

Funeral Services are Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Winter Park Chapel, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, with Deacon Norm Levesque officiating.

Visitation will precede the service on Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

Interment with full military honors will take place in All Faiths Memorial Park, Casselberry, FL.
