James P. Holland, or Jim, as he liked to be called died on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016, at Florida Hospital near his home in Orlando, FL after battling a severe infection. He would have been 80 years old on March 7th.
Jim was born in Worten, West Virginia before he and his parents, Alton and Louise Holland moved to Detroit, MI shortly after his birth. The majority of his life he spent living in Detroit, where he worked in the auto industry for General Motors. He also raised his own family in the same neighborhood he grew up in until the family moved to Orlando in 1989. He married his sweetheart, Jane, in 1974 and they were married 33 years before she passed away in 2007. They were each other's soul mate and they shared a deep love and devotion to one another.
Jim was also a Korean War Veteran, where he proudly served in the Army's 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. His service to his country is one of the things that he was most proud of in his life.
Jim will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, FL next to his loving wife, Jane Holland. He is survived by his daughters Patty Holland and Wanda Holland Mills, his sister Pat Holland Kuhn, his brother Tom Holland, his son-in-law Jack Mills, and his grandson Jax James Mills.
