James M. Eads, 86, passed away quietly at home surrounded by family on July 16, 2015. It was a blessing that he never lost his ability to know who we were and on his last day he laughed and joked with everyone who visited. That was a great day for him. He wanted to be at home to die and was there a little over 24 hours before he joined his family in heaven.
He spent most of his life serving our country, first in the Army then in the Air Force. Since his retirement he has enjoyed bargain hunting in the form of yard sales, pawn shops and flea markets. His finds gave him great pleasure.
He was married twice – first to Louise (20 years) and then to Ellie (30+ years). Since the loss of Ellie in January 2014 he has suffered with many health issues – shingles, heart, shoulders and cysts on his back. Through all that he continued to be independent – taking care of his needs without intervention from family.
His family was his sense of pride. He recently told us how proud he was of what we have accomplished in our lives. He is survived by his three children, Debbie Bash, James M. Eads, Jr, and Vicki McDonald AND his step daughter, Linda Clark.
He leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Of those, Martha Munson and David Eads are still living. They both reside in Missouri.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
