James "Wendell" Outen age 72 of Longwood, FL, passed peacefully into the embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 10, 2023 following a brief illness.
Wendell is preceded in death by his father Willie and his son Jason. Wendell is survived by his wife Kelly, mother Joanne, brother Wayne, and sister Diane. Wendell was also the father to his oldest son Jamie Outen and stepfather to Emily Calderone (Stephen). Wendell leaves behind six grandchildren, Joshua and Joesph, who he raised from a young age, Jason Jr., Samantha, Addison and Anna Calderone.
Wendell retired from Siemens as an Engineering Aid and worked for a short time as a police officer. Wendell made the world a happier place when he became a clown and balloon artist. Wendell performed at charitable events and delighted children and adults alike with his elaborate balloon creations. His favorite performance was for a group of local children while on a mission trip to Haiti. Wendell was an active parishioner at St. Margaret Mary, until his health began to decline, serving our Lord through the Men Answering the Call ministry. Wendell enjoyed delving into the Word of God with the Mens' Bible Study at St. Margaret Mary and had a great love for his Lord, Jesus Christ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am, Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 526 N. Park Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789. A reception will take place immediately following the Mass on the campus of St. Margaret Mary. Internment will follow at 2:30 at Queen of Angels Cemetery, 1901 Queen of Angels Drive, Winter Park, FL.
