James Michael Smith

James Michael Smith known by Mike or Michael, age 66, of Chuluota, Florida, passed away on May 26, 2023, surrounded by his daughters.

He was a Florida native born to James Edward Smith and Martha Marie Smith. He was a truck driver for over 36 years known as "Smitty" by all his friends. Mike found joy in the moments he spent with his family. Most summers he enjoyed vacationing with his daughters and wife at Fort Myers Beach or to the mountains in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. As a true Florida native, he spent many weekends at the beach – boogey-boarding, playing music, and eating fried chicken with family. If you knew Mike, you knew he loved playing his harmonicas for anyone who would listen and would never pass down a trip to go deep sea fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica and Sarah, sons-in-law, John and Andres, and four grandchildren, Adilynn, Evelynn, Carson, and Landon. He is also survived by his former wife, Susan; his parents, James Edward Smith and Martha Marie Smith; his brother, Stephen E. Smith; his sister, Debra D. Cruz, and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed every day.

Mike's family will host a family and friends gathering on July 21st, 2023 at 5:00pm followed by a funeral service at 6:00pm. The visitation and service will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.
