Burton, Jamie D., age 26 of Pembroke Pines, FL, formerly of Orlando, passed away Friday August 3, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident Southbound on I-75 in Weston. He was born in Orlando on September 5, 1980, and received Jesus Christ as his Savior as a teenager. Jamie was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He had served as a Corporal in Unit 3rd Battalion 4th Marine Infantry Unit and was a decorated combat war hero, serving in Okinawa, Guam and in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jamie served on the frontline from Kuwait to Bagdad. He was preceded in death by his mother Susan Spear Burton. He is survived by his sisters Julie Hearn (Daniel) and their son Preston and Hollie Maule (Garrett) and their son Colby. He is also survived by his grandmother Betty Spear; his uncle Mike and aunt Cindy Spear; and his father Jack Burton. Visitation will be held from 5-9PM on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895. S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Orlando Baptist Church, 500 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando.
