Janet Grey Howe, 94, of Orlando, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Born in Scarsdale, New York, she moved to Central Florida in 1979 from Killingworth, Connecticut. She proudly served in the United States Navy from October 5, 1944 to April 11, 1946. She did various volunteer jobs and worked for many years as a church secretary prior to moving to Florida. She was retired and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. She loved convertible automobiles and never met a dog that she didn't like.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Vera H. McClave, who lived with her. She is survived by her nieces; Holly M. Griffith and her husband, Walter and Deborah M. Burden of Orlando. She is also survived by great-nieces, Tammy L. Harbour and Sarah B. Kucinski; great-nephews, Donald W. Griffith, Joshua T. Burden, Joel S. Burden and Samuel D. Burden; great-great nieces, Madison E. Griffith, Raquel D. Kucinski and Danielle Kucinski; great-great nephews, Jonathan Harbour, Noah S. Griffith, Roman W. Griffith and Shane P.B. Davies.
Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 2201 Lucien Way, Suite 100, Maitland, Florida 32751 would be appreciated.
