Janet Reid Tannock

June 9, 1939 — June 11, 2024

On June 11, 2024 at 6:58 a.m., Janet Reid Tannock went to her final resting place with the Lord. She celebrated her 85th birthday on Sunday, June 9th with family by her side. Janet was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. While she will be greatly missed here on earth, we find peace in knowing that she is in Heaven with her Savior, and joined at last with her predeceased family whom she dearly missed.

Janet was born in Clydebank, Scotland to Albert Wigmore and Mary Jane Green Wigmore. She grew up in Milngavie, a suburb of Glasgow, Scotland and moved to America as a young woman to provide the best opportunities for her family.

Janet had a special love for children. She retired from the Orange County Public School system after more than 30 years teaching handicapped children. She loved to share Bible stories and read books to her children and grandchildren, and found great strength in her church. She was a virtuous woman of God, and exhibited a shining example of God’s love to her family, friends, and everyone she came in contact with.

Janet was preceded in death by her oldest son, Paul James Tannock, who she has joined now in Heaven.

She is survived by her children, Mark Tannock, Arthur Tannock, Janet Palasz, and Brian Tannock. “Net”, as her grandchildren affectionately called her, was survived by eight grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Ian, Amanda, Paul James, Isabella, Paul Issac, and Dathan; seven great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Nathan, Isla, Joshua, Ethyn, Layla, and Allessa; and one great, great- grandchild, Eden. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Wigmore, the last remaining of seven siblings.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Family and friends will be informed of service details. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to one of the following charity organizations that Janet supported:

Home - Jerusalem Prayer Team
The Jerusalem Prayer Team with Dr. Michael D. Evans exists to build Friends of Zion to guard defend and protect the Jewish people and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We pray for peace in Jerusalem because the Scriptures tell us to in Psalm 122:6. The Jerusalem Prayer Team was inspired from the 100-year long prayer meeting for the restoration of Israel held in the ten Boom family home in Haarlem, Holland. We are committed to encouraging others to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and God's Chosen People.
