Jay Ell Wolfe, 95 of Orlando, Florida passed away on Friday, September 12,2014.
Jay was born on February 19, 1919 in Gordon, Texas to Jesse and Rosa (Lancaster) Wolfe. He was also preceded in death in 2004 by his wife of 52 years, Helga.
At the age of twenty Jay went into the Civilian Conservation Core and that started his service to this country. He served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Hector, receiving an honorable discharge in 1945. In 1948 he enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps and served until 1951 at which point he went into the U.S. Air Force where he remained until 1968.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, handyman projects, mechanic work and tinkering. He was always inventing new tools and techniques.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Birgitt Noble; son, Jay Ell Wolfe, Jr.; sisters Margaret Leatherwood and Arvejia Craver; granddaughter, Casandra Brady; grandson, David Noble and 4 great grandchildren. He also had 3 children and several grandchildren from a previous marriage in the 1940's.
