Jayne P. Telzrow, 89, of Orlando, passed away June 12, at home, after a long illness with members of her family by her side. Jayne was born July 10, 1919, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late George and Emma (Duranko) Monkosky.
Jayne was a graduate of South High School, Cleveland, Ohio, class of 1938. On August 21, 1941, she married Thomas E. Telzrow at Holy Name Catholic Church in Cleveland. As the wife of a career Air Force officer, Jayne traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and was an avid reader. Her love of travel led her to work as a travel agent for Clarkson's Tours in England and for Caribbean Cruises travel agency in Winter Park. She was known for her extraordinary skill in the kitchen and for her enduring love of family and friends. Jayne was a devout Roman Catholic and member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Orlando, for nearly 40 years.
She will be sadly missed by her sister Patricia (Monkosky) Dreifke, Cleveland,; seven children, Thomas M. Telzrow, Minneapolis, Minn.; Dennis L.Telzrow, Dallas, Texas.; Patrick F. Telzrow, St. Paul, Minn.; Deborah K. Telzrow, Charlotte, N.C.; Mary E. (Telzrow) Kriss, Orlando, Fla.; Michael E. Telzrow, Green Bay, Wis.; and George E. Telzrow, Alexandria, Va.; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy (Monkosky) Wahl, and her beloved husband.
Visitation will be held on June 16 from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, with recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held on June 17 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with the Rev. Brian Sheridan officiating. Entombment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Winter Park, following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Jayne's name has been established at Catholic Charities of Central Florida. The family would like to thank the staff of Cornerstone Hospice for their care and assistance.
