Jeanette Ruth Gregory

October 12, 1943 — July 17, 2023

Jeanette Ruth Gregory, aged 79, was born October 12, 1943 to Ruth and Eugene Gregory in Long Island, New York. She passed away peacefully on July 17, 2023, in her home in Altamonte Springs, Florida, surrounded by her daughter and friends.

Jeanette is predeceased by her grandmother, Ona, mother, Ruth, father, Eugene, brother, Robert and most deeply wounding to her, her son Ryan.

She is survived by her daughter Brooke and daughter- in -law, Edwina, who is the mother to her cherished grandchildren Marsha and Hunter. Margo is Jeanette's bonus grandchild!.

Jeanette has a very large extended family whom she loved deeply. Brothers and sisters, she has plenty and each held a special place in her heart. They include Jerome and Sherry MacDonald, Elizabeth and Nick Ferraiolo, Doreen MacDonald, Kathy and Sergio Gonzalez, Carol Pruitt, John and Yana Gregory and Tom and Donna Gregory. As almost anyone can imagine, the aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, longtime and new friends were snuggled deep into her heart as well. Family, pets and friends were what made Jeanette's heart sing and dance with joy.

In her youth on Long Island, she enjoyed horseback riding, digging for clams and maybe not so much, watching over her siblings. As a young adult she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she met lifelong friends and had many adventures. One notable adventure includes entering a Backgammon tournament as a novice and taking home the 1st place trophy after hours of playing. This accomplishment didn't sit well with her soon to be brother -in-law, experienced player, Sidney, but she did it. She met and married her children's father, Edward Taylor, and her family grew to include his. They were blessed with Brooke and Ryan.

Many days she spent watching her children play baseball, soccer, football, swimming, and shelling at the beach. Jeanette and Eddie created a beautiful life with their family and friends. They went on to design and build a stunning home in Davie, Florida. Jeanette was an interior designer if you hadn't noticed by
the many beautiful homes and gardens she created over her years.

Hosting celebrations for family and friends was another one of her passions. If you attended any of these parties, you know what an excellent host she was. She paid attention to every detail to include an exquisitely decorated home, music, dancing (she loved to boogie), fantastic food and drink and most importantly, making sure everyone felt welcomed and loved.

In her early 40's she moved with her children to Altamonte Springs where she watched them become young adults. She embarked upon a new career as a top sales representative for Nexxus and Goldwell. She continued entertaining and hosting wonderful gatherings. Jeanette was the family historian and rarely missed a birthday for anyone. Her quick wit, bold frankness and storytelling made her an immense joy for all who were blessed to be with her.

During her life, Jeanette also enjoyed camping, gardening, and boating. When she retired, Jeanette took time to travel, visit family and friends, and see places like New Orleans, the Eastern seaboard and Nova Scotia. Jeanette had an immense love for all animals especially birds, dogs and cats. She had many rescue stories and a few were lucky and got to stay. She attended Northland Church and shared her deeply felt love for Christ lovingly with others.

Her presence in our lives will be missed!
