Jeannette Aviles Lopez passed away at home with her children by her side, on August 15th, 2021 at the age of 57, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a kind, generous, and caring mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, aunt, and sister. She was born May 22nd, 1964 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Juan M. Aviles and Gladys Penalver. Jeannette is survived by her children Michael and Patricia, husband Joseph, mother Gladys, brothers John and Joe, and many loving cousins, aunts, family members, and friends.
Jeannette worked many different occupations in her lifetime, but the job she loved most in the world was being a mother, and later, a grandmother. The love she shared for not only her children and grandchildren, but to all her loved ones, is incomparable. Like her dearly departed father, her joy in life was giving to others. She was incredibly thoughtful in everything she did, for not only the people she knew and loved the most, but even for those she'd just met.
One of Jeannette's passions in life was crafting. She was unbelievably inventive, creative, and resourceful. She was always in her "happy place", as she'd say, when crafting something new. She combined her love of crafting, with her love of her family, in affectionately creating many baby shower and birthday party decorations (especially those of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews). Jeannette enjoyed learning about history; Egyptian and Mayan history being some of her favorites. She loved traveling and being adventurous, as she was able to visit the Colosseum in Rome, the ruins of Pompeii, Chichen Itza in Mexico, and many other places.
Though she has returned home to the open, loving arms of The Lord, her father, and her family members passed, she remains in all of our hearts, until we are reunited once more.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Goldenrod Rd., Sunday, August 22nd, from 3 to 6 pm.
