Jefferson Eugene Brooks

December 17, 1952 — June 14, 2021

On December 17, 1952 in St. Joseph, MO God blessed Sarah Robinson Brooks with a son and she named him Jefferson Eugene Brooks. He was the fourth of nine children and the eldest son. His mother and two sisters (Stephanie and Hallette) and two brothers (Cedric and Kevin), cousin/sister (Linda Robinson) and son (Victor Ford, Jr.) preceded him to glory.

Jeff attended public schools in St. Joseph. He acknowledged his love for Christ at a young age and served the Lord as a musician in his churches. He later moved to Omaha, NE to be closer to his family. In 1977, he met Myrtle Starks and on August 5, 1978 they were married and remained so for 44 years. He and his family later moved from Kansas City, MO to Orlando, FL where he and his family united with the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church of Taft, Fl. He loved his church family. He was a member of the Mass Choir and the "Men of Distinction" Choir. He was known for his deep baritone and bass voice and his "strutful swag".

Jeff loved cooking and became a Chef working for Aramark while living in Kansas City, MO and working at Sprint Headquarters in Prairie Woods, Kansas and Overland Park, Kansas. When his family relocated to Orlando, FL the company transferred him to their facility in (Walt Disney World) and was promoted to Head Chef. He prepared and served many meals for Disney World employees and Tupperware International Headquarters employees and as well liked by all who met him. He remained with Aramark for 14 years and retired from Sedecco at Disney in 2014. Jeff was a true believer in helping others if he could and truly cared about the welfare of others.

His health began failing in 2017 and he was later diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018. He was determined to beat this disease and fought the great fight until the Lord sent his angels to walk him through the clouds and up the Stairway To Heaven on Monday, June 14, 2021. He leaves to continue his legacy and memory his loving wife, Myrtle of the home; six sons: Jefferson Brooks Jr., Mikel Brooks, and Jefferson E.
