Jerome William Fuller

June 22, 1941 — December 9, 2019

Jerome "Jerry" William Fuller 78, of Wesley Chapel, NC passed into God's care on December 9, 2019 after a short illness. He was born June 22, 1941 in Hibbing, MN to Rodney William and Virginia Ione Fuller (nee Dorry).

Jerome grew up in Grand Rapids, MN, and attended Grand Rapids high school and Itasca Junior College in Coleraine, MN. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota to complete his engineering education. While working at Univac in St Paul, MN he decided to pursue computer science classes. After graduation, Jerry was employed at the University of Wisconsin in Superior, and then St Mary's Clinic in Duluth, MN. Computer programming led him to a job in Orlando, FL at Kirchman Corp, and later Landmark Systems in Fort Myers, FL. From there he moved to Charlotte, NC to work at Bank of America, writing code for a variety of programs. Jerome was proud that he had helped our National Defense by programming missiles along the northern DEW line and programed a manned space vehicle for NASA that orbited the moon. He also helped streamline banking software.

Jerome moved his family to the Orlando, Florida area in 1980, where his children completed their schooling. He then moved to Fort Myers, FL, before moving to Charlotte, NC. He was an avid hunter in Florida, North Carolina and Minnesota. He participated in several race car classes, and truck racing events. He was a fan of Nascar ,and Vikings and Panthers football. He enjoyed shooting sports and off-road challenges. While in Florida he won many trophies at mudbogging events.

He married Barbara (Billie) Gadbois on August 26, 2000 He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion in Grand Rapids, MN and Monroe, NC. He also served as president of an association of data processors in Duluth, MN. He loved motorcycles and Jeeps and was a member of HOG and a member of Carolina Off Road Extremists. After retiring in 2002, he was able to hunt more often and travel around the US visiting many states. Jerome loved history, nature, places of interest, and learning.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rodney and Virginia Fuller, and stepmother Ramona Fuller, all of MN. Also daughter Renee Fuller Peterson, and grandson Blake Fuller of Orlando, Florida; and 2 stepbrothers Alan and Daniel Terhaar of MN.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Billie) Fuller; his daughters, Yvonne Holm (Corey) and Yvette Drake (Bob); his grandchildren, Dylan Peterson, Trae Drake and Elayne McLoughlin; two great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Pia Tucker (Terry), her children, Kristina and JT Dianne Savelle (Tim); and their son, Trent and Mark Gadbois (Jill). His sisters, Tiana Dreymor, Kathie Crowe, Sharon Kimber; and a brother, John Fuller (Terri). Doreen Manthey and Dawn Watroba. Also, stepsisters; Cheryl Hollom (Bob), Beverly Peterson (Paul); stepbrothers Jerome Terhaar (Lorraine) and Rick Terhaar (Ellen); and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, FL with Chaplain Mike Caroline officiating.

The family will receive friends preceding the service from 9:30 am - 10:30 am.

Committal will follow the service at Longwood Memorial Gardens, Longwood, FL.
