Joash Canaan Comandao

July 11, 1983 — February 24, 2020

Joash Canaan Comandao joined our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning of February 24, 2020. He peacefully passed away at the age of 36. He is survived by his mother, Hope Comandao, his siblings, Eunice (Joseph) Culhane and Titus Comandao, and a niece and 2 nephews. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins from the families of Comandao, Baluyot, Borromeo, Niestrath, and Padil.

Joash had been sick on and off throughout his life. As a baby and young child, doctors did not expect him to reach the age of 30. In most recent years, he battled chronic bronchitis repeatedly. In the week prior, his periodic illness returned which resulted in his unexpected passing.

Joash loved music and was very social. He danced to music that he listened to on the radio. He loved to sing along to the songs on the radio and would sing with the choir from his church pew. He would be so moved by some of the songs that he could not help but cry his heart out to God no matter where he was. He also tended to be the "life" of the party so to speak. He did not hesitate to go up to anyone at church to say hello and talk about whatever happened to him at school recently or about the toy or object he had with him. He always carried an object as his talking point, whether it was a toy, a picture, or a flyer of an upcoming event that he wanted to participate in.

We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, words of comfort, and condolences. In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that you consider donating to Eastland Baptist Church or Nathaniel's Hope.

Joash's earthly journey is now over. There is no more pain, no more sorrow for him.

"No more night, no more pain. No more tears, never crying again. And praises to the great, "I AM." We will live in the light of the risen Lamb." - from "No More Night" by David Phelps.

When he took his last breath on earth and took his first step in Heaven, we bet that he started jumping for joy as he was greeted by Lola Gongie and Opa Hans and celebrated by dancing with the angels.
