John Patrick Anderson
August 1, 1945 – March 13, 2025
John Patrick Anderson, 79, of Orlando, FL, passed away on March 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 1, 1945, in New York City, John was the son of Carl Anderson and Agnes Brennan and the second of five children. A bright and inquisitive student, he skipped the third grade, eventually going on to attend Epiphany Apostolic College in Newburgh, NY, graduating in 1962.
Before entering the U.S. Army in 1965, John met the love of his life, Carmen, while they were both working at the Singer Sewing Company. During his service, which included a year stationed in Germany, they remained devoted to one another. Upon his return, they married on February 3, 1968, building a life together for the next 57 years filled with love, family, and friendship.
John dedicated over 30 years to the commercial truck tire industry in sales, service, and management, working with companies including Service Tire Truck Center, Custom Bandag, Goodyear, and Tarray International Corporation. While he took great pride in his work, it was in retirement that he found his greatest joy and purpose.
After moving to Orlando, FL, John became deeply involved with the Knights of Columbus, which he had originally joined in New Jersey in 1981. As a dedicated manager, he played a vital role in food distribution to those in need, working closely with the Catholic Charities.
Beyond his charitable work, John and Carmen were active members of the Orlando Senior Center, where he brought people together through his passion for poker. What started as a small gathering soon became a thriving biweekly poker game with over 40 regular players.
John was an incredibly hardworking man, an adoring husband, a loving father to his three daughters—Melissa (Danny), Alexis (Jess), and Jessica (Clifford)—and a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren (Ilyssa, Steven, Christopher, Alexa, Greyson, Wesley, and Roman) and three great-grandchildren (Joshua, Jaxon, John).
He is survived by his beloved wife Carmen, his daughters, grandchildren, and his devoted sister Margie. He is predeceased by his brothers Jimmy and Dennis and his sister Barbara.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Catholic Charities of Central Florida Food Bank in John’s honor, continuing his legacy of giving and service. John’s life was one well-lived, full of love and generosity. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
