John Peter Bartlinski

April 19, 1957 — September 13, 2023

"Pete" Bartlinski

John Peter Bartlinski went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2023. He is survived by his two loving children, Jessica Bartlinski and Jared Bartlinski (Kelly); Pappa Pete's two adoring granddaughters, Paisley and Brielle Bartlinski; siblings, Jeanne Alumbaugh (Roger), Anna McCarthy (Martin), Joe Bartlinski (Colleen), Meg Myers (Butch); nieces, Christina and Jordan Bartlinski and Teresa Kendall.

Pete graduated from Bishop Moore High School in 1976 lettering in football and wrestling. He went on to pursue his passion of becoming a firefighter. Starting his early career at the Longwood Fire Department, then Seminole County Fire Department, later transferring to the Reedy Creek Fire Department and then onto the Orlando Fire Department where he retired as a Lieutenant. He experienced and relished every aspect of working as a firefighter and EMT, cave diving, FLA smoke divers, rappelling tall buildings and anything else he could get into that was fire or EMS related.

He loved God, spending time with his family and friends, being a fireman, riding his Harley, traveling to exotic locations around the world, fishing fresh and salt water and experiencing any adventure to be had!

"Bartman" was a legend when it came to his sense of humor and the many pranks he played on friends, family, and co-workers. Pete was truly one of the funniest people you would ever meet and rest assured there was never a dull moment when he was around.

Pete loved people and never met a stranger. He would go out of his way whenever called upon and could fix or build anything. He also spent time and treasure feeding and caring for the homeless in the area.

Surrounded by his family and friends in his last days, telling stories/laughing and listening to Jimmy Buffett, many of the lyrics he actually lived out during his sixty six years of life. He truly lived life to the fullest, sliding in sideways to St. Peter's gate, bruised, battered and joyfully receiving his heavenly reward.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local charity in Pete's honor, as he always would do.
