John Wesley Booker

John Wesley Booker, Sr. (Pelley) departed this life on April 28th, 2018 at FLorida Hospital East in Orlando, Florida. Pelley, as he was called by his family and friends, was the baby of the family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Texanna Booker and Mr. Henry Booker. He also had two sisters, who have passed on; Mrs. Eva B. Robinson and Mrs. Mary B. Robinson. He is survived by his two brothers, Mr. Samuel Jones and his wife Edna Jones, of Burkeville, Virginia, and Mr. Willie Jones of Richmond, Virginia.

John was educated in the Amelia County School, and joined the Amelia Baptist Church at a young age, where he received Christ as his personal savior. John joined the Army at an early age, and became a truck driver for forty years after he served in the military. John moved to Orlando, Florida in 1975. There he was married to his devoted wife of 44 years, Pattie Booker. They have five beautiful children, Wanda A. Booker of Orlando, FL; John Jr. of Orlando, FL; Iris Redd of Orlando, FL; Joseph Redd of Orlando, FL; and Shelia Redd Johnson of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia. He leaves behind ten grandchildren, Shandriece Booker, Kayla Booker, Stephanie Booker, Germaine Pitt, Kobe Booker, Devin Scott, Jordon Booker, Keanna Johnson, Maykala Booker, and Kianna Booker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
