John Doddridge Shelby

John Doddridge Shelby, 77 of Chuluota, Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He was born on January 30, 1936 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Richard Shelby and Irma Cuillier Shelby. Mr. Shelby known as Jay moved to New York in the 1950's. He met and married Brunilda Perez in New York on December 29, 1957. They moved to Los Angeles in 1964. Jay and his wife moved to Central Florida in 1996.

Jay was a retired Teacher from Horace Mann Junior High School and from Southwest Community College both in Los Angeles. He was a member of the Central Florida Gem and Mineralogical Society and was a Mason. Jay was of the Catholic Faith.

Jay enjoyed making jewelry and dabbled in sculpture. He also enjoyed working on his cars including rebuilding engines and body work which he did as a hobby.

He is survived by his wife, Brunilda Perez Shelby; daughter, Donna Rosalie Shelby; son, Doddridge C. Shelby and his wife, Annie and his two grandsons, Justin Doddridge Shelby and Shane Alexander Shelby.
