Mr. John Homer Thomas, 84 of Winter Park, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012. He was born on May 19, 1927 in Greeley, Colorado to the late H. Victor Thomas and Dorothy Lockhart Moss Thomas.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army after which he graduated from the University of Colorado as an Electrical Engineer. He moved his family to Maitland, Florida in 1963 to continue managing critical projects for Martin-Marietta, now known as Lockheed Martin, from which he retired after 30 years. He was also active in the community, coaching several championship baseball and football teams in Little League, American Legion and Pop Warner. He excelled in many sports including golf, championship Bowling, Fishing as well as Hunting where he acquired several records in North America.
As well as being preceded in death by his parents, he is also preceded by his wife, Cynthia Ruth Walker Thomas and brother Victor C. Thomas. He is survived by his children, Mary Kathleen Carroll and her husband Frank, John Michael Thomas and his wife Sherian, Leslie Gail McIntosh and her husband George Christian, Patrick William Thomas and his wife Karen, Kelly David Thomas and his wife, Carole and Daniel Walker Thomas and his wife Patti; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
