John William O'Shaughnessy

September 1, 1958 - February 24, 2024

John W. O'Shaughnessy age 65 went home to be with the Lord Saturday February 24, 2024 following a brief battle with Cancer.

John was born in Evanston, Illinois and spent his youth growing up as an only child in Chicago and Greys Lake Illinois. In 1980 he graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in Geography. John married Kathy Linquist in 1983 and soon moved to Springfield Illinois where they began their careers in Health Care. In 2003 John and Kathy moved to Orlando to be closer to family.

As a young man, John loved cars, music, camping and water skiing and spent summers during high school and college in Wisconsin, skiing and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. John loved to read and held passion for collecting WWII memorabilia. Over the years John developed a love of photography and traveled with Kathy photographing the beautiful, the obvious, nature and many historical places. With the images he captured on film, John was a master at creating still-life videos set to his favorite music. John was a devoted husband and friend. As a devout Christian, John spent much of his time with his church ministering to the needs of others.

He is preceded by in death by his Parents Mary & William and his wife Kathleen L. O'Shaughnessy.

John is survived by his brother's in-law Mark (Jennifer) and Edwin (Diane) Linquist. He is also survived by his niece Patricia Linquist and nephews Garrett (Laura), Cole (Julia) and Blake Linquist.

He was a great man and was kind to all he met. He will be loved and missed dearly by family and friends.
