John Logan Simon, Jr. passed away on the morning of November 13, 2022. Born in Morgantown, WV on
July 9, 1952, he grew up in Windermere, FL. John worked as a land surveyor, with his career spanning
more than 40 years. He worked for private engineering firms, Walt Disney World, and the City of
Orlando on projects that included the Florida Power Line, parts of EPCOT, and the layout of Alaqua.
John retired in 2014 after working with the City of Orlando for several years. In 1990, he married
Michele Adsit, and in 1991, they had a son, Peter. They lived in Apopka, FL for 29 years before moving
to Casselberry in 2018. John is survived by his wife, Michele, their son, Capt. Peter Logan Simon, USSF
(Bridget), and grandchildren, Declan Logan Simon and Walter Conrad Simon, of Colorado Springs, CO.
John is also survived by his sisters, Susan Sanderson of Denver, CO, Shawn Ray of Casselberry, FL, and
Mary Hornsby (Dean) of Salt Lake City, UT, as well as nephews, nieces, sisters- and brothers-in-law who
will all miss him dearly.
A celebration of John's life will be held on December 1, 2022, at 4:00 pm at Carmel by the Lake in
