Jorge Luis Cruz, 65, died peacefully at 8:15 pm at Advent Health Hospital, Orlando, Florida, surrounded by his loving wife, Aida, his children, grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Jorge was born on November 13, 1954 in Ponce, Puerto Rico and was a long-time resident of Brooklyn, New York, where he lived with his family until moving to New Jersey in the 1980's.
Jorge worked as a truck driver for Lisanti, Roma Foods, and Benjamin Moore after moving to Orlando, Florida where he eventually retired.
Jorge was a lover of life and had an infectious smile. He had a passion for salsa music, playing the timbales with his favorite group of friends, playing dominoes, trains, and going to the beach.
Jorge is survived by his large family and host of friends.
A visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, Florida. A celebration of Jorge's life will be held at 7:00 pm, officiated by Reverend Angel Espinosa of La Nueva Jerusalem Church.
