There are no words to express the sadness family and friends feel with the parting of Jorge Luis Perez Acosta. We count with joy and blessings the 90 years of life Adonai, our creator, gave our father to live. Jorge was born in Lares, Puerto Rico on May 29, 1934 to Camelia Acosta and Aurelio Perez. He was the brother to seven other siblings. Jorge was a man who loved life, and nature. He enjoyed the typical folklore music of his Island of Puerto Rico. He loved playing music instruments, and enjoyed singing his favorite tunes. Everything dad touched in nature, prospered! Every seed grew! Nature was always green at the touch of his fingers. Jorge loved the wood work. Building projects out of wood was a hobby he enjoyed very much. As his granddaughter, Haydeliz, once said, “papa can fix anything”. This was an understatement. Jorge enjoyed many cuisines, however, there was no cuisine he loved the most than our mother’s ‘sanchoco and carne guisada’. Papito, as we all knew him, loved many fruits, but there was no fruit he loved the most than the ‘avocado’. His delight for avocados was so great, he planted seeds everywhere and grew many trees on his properties. He loved classical and western movies, and loved to watch sports and building shows. Jorge, was a Dodgers fan! Papito loved his baseball! Something he enjoyed doing with his sons Benji and Danny Perez and son-in-law, Anthony E. Woods. There was no brighter smile than Jorge’s smile. His smile would light up an entire room. He had a joker’s heart. He made people laugh with his not so funny jokes lol. That was papito, just a piece of work of his own.

Jorge, is survived by his wife of 37 years of marriage, Haydee Colon Flores, his children: Benji Perez, Danny Perez, Sonia Perez, Antonio Velez, Fioldaliza Woods, Anthony E. Woods and grandchildren, Haydeliz Ortiz, Abel Vasquez, and Nasyida Woods. Jorge leaves behind two sisters: Camelia Perez (Tury) and Evalina Perez.

Jorge wanted his life to be celebratred and not mourned. He loved Adonai, and knew Him as his savior. He wanted friends and family to know he was ready to go home to be with The Father. In his honor, we will be celebrating Jorge’s life on July 12, 2024 at the Riviera Bella Community clubhouse at 660 Riviera Bella, Debary, FL 32713 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Please, come and join us celebrate his life and salvation!
