Jose A. "Tony" Perez, age 77 of Orlando, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006.
Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, he moved to Central Florida in 1977. He was a retired Certified Public Accountant for the Government of Puerto Rico and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of The 17th Infantry Regiment Association, the Disabled American Veterans in Ocala, Florida, The Korean Veterans of War, The Chosen Few, Veterans of Foreign War, American Legion, a two time recipient of the Purple Heart and member of the Purple Heart Association.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Perez-Diaz of Orlando; son, Jose A. Perez Jr. of Orlando; sisters, Gladys and Zaida Perez both of Puerto Rico; grandsons, Branden and Jake Perez both of Orlando and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 in the Chapel of Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando with Full Military Honors. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at a later date. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-9:00 PM.
