Obedeció al llamado de su Señor

José Ignacio Figueroa Cruz
(Nacho – Cuco)
Mayo 9, 1953 – Marzo 9, 2024

Obedient to the call form the Lord

José Ignacio Figueroa Cruz
(Nacho – Cuco)
May 9, 1953 – March 9, 2024

He was born in Manatí, Puerto Rico, the son to Félix Figueroa Avilés and Demetria Cruz Galarza, and had his second birth through Jesus Christ in 1970. He married Myria Grisel Sánchez Larregui on July 5, 1976, and became a father on June 25, 1979, to Amaris Grisel, "La Nena", and then on January 7, 1981 his clone, José Francisco "Pancho", was born.

His passion for the Lord's work was extraordinary. He was a founding worker at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Monaco, Manatí, Puerto Rico. José then moved to Florida in 1995, and was part of the First Hispanic Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Orlando, pastored by Pastor Dante Vicens, and then by Pastor Benigno Diaz. His life was entirely focused on preparing workers for the work of Christ. His teachings were engraved within many hearts, which today bear fruit of salvation through Christ. One of his most popular phrases in his preaching was: "Those who do not want to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will have the great problem of going with Pateco." José was a faithful observer of principles and values learned through the word of God.

He is survived by his wife, children, granddaughter, nieces and nephews, and his sister Blanca. It is important to mention their particular relationship of more than a friend, a brother, Federico Rivera, in everything - his work and family that formalized a special bond of trust between them. He affectionately called us all "Wabalanga", whose meaning we do not know to this day. One of his greatest teachings was to love his family and friends. Today he lives eternally in the presence of the Lord and his memory remains forever in our hearts.

Revelation 21:3 - I heard a loud voice coming from the throne and saying, "Behold, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God Himself will be with them."
