Jose "Joe" "Pica Pica" Israel Perez passed away on January 22, 2022 after a long battle with medical issues; he showed incredible strength and courage throughout, especially after his recent diagnosis of cancer. Despite the pain, Joe continually showed his love to those around him. He never forgot a face and he greeted everyone with the same enthusiasm, traits he maintained to the end.
Joe was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 18, 1958; it was there where he met his wife, Maria Perez, at a Star Creme where they both worked. Shortly after getting married, he had big dreams to move to the states. He began working as a truck driver hauling dirt and rocks, but at his heart he was always a motorcycle and car enthusiast. Following that passion, he eventually got into the auto business transporting vehicles for dealers and selling cars on the side; it was from this that Joe's Transport was born. After a few years he was able to open Joe's Classic and the car selling and buying began. From this business Joe developed Rich Port Auto Transport, which he was able to open locations in Orlando, FL as well as in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico.
When he wasn't working or growing his business, Joe had a ton of hobbies. He disliked the beach, but if he was able to drive a boat he was willing to go anytime. Motorcycles and cars always remained his passion; he would take long motorcycle trips with his "crew" and he never missed a Bike Week or Biketoberfest. Classic cars were his love, but as his daughters can attest he didn't mind getting behind the wheel of any fast car. Joe is survived by his wife, Maria, his son, Juan Carlos, his daughters, Minedys and Natalie, his grandchildren, Ethan, Karis, and Peyton, and a large, loving family.
