Jose M. Rivera, age 88, of Orlando, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at AdventHealth Hospice Care in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Jose was born April 30, 1933 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Agripina Rivera. He proudly served in the United States Army. His passion was for his family and he loved fishing, boats and cars. He was a strong, silent man but was always available if someone needed him. In the year 2014, he started exhibiting signs of Alzheimer's. His wife, Lydia Gandia took very good care of him and he was truly blessed to have her.
Jose is survived by his wife, Lydia Gandia, daughters: Evelyn Middleton and Janet Rivera; son, David Rivera; sisters: Lucy Ramos and Maria Rosario; nieces: Naomi Velazquez and Joy Ramos and his grandchildren: Jose Arevalo, Anabel Arevalo, Michael Middleton and Nicholas Middleton.
Services for Jose will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11;00 AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Orlando Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
