Joseph F. Casey

Joseph Francis Casey, of Winter Park, the son of William H. Casey and Marie G. Barboza was born in Cambridge Massachusetts. He attended Northeastern University in Boston and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He moved to Orlando in 1981 and worked at Duda in Oviedo for 19 years, eventually becoming Treasurer. During those years he also was an adjunct professor of Finance and Insurance at the University of Central Florida. Later he took a position as vice president at Comp Benefits in Tampa. He left Florida for several years to work as an associate dean at California Polytechnic University in Pomona California and then at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He was a voracious reader, who enjoyed history, sailing and canoeing. 

He is survived by Angele, his wife of 56 years, son, Edward Casey of Tallahassee, son, Liam Casey of San Francisco, daughter-in- law Kay Hoskins of San Francisco, grandson, Joseph E. Casey of Tallahassee, brother, William Casey of Palm Springs California, brother, James Casey of Waltham, Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter-in-law Sharon Moskowitz of Tallahassee, brother, Francis of Cambridge Massachusetts and brother, Edward of Framingham Massachusetts. 

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date.
