Joseph Edward Kress, 76, of Orlando, Florida, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 23, 1946, to Edward Matthew Kress and Eleanor Anna (nee Gedeon) Kress.
He graduated from Avon Park High School, Avon Park, Florida, in 1964, then served in the Air Force during the Vietnam campaign. After leaving the Air Force, he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, graduating with honors. Upon graduation, he immediately joined IBM as an Electrical Engineer, a job that lasted until his retirement years later.
Joe is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Smith of Orlando, his niece Melissa Coleman of Jacksonville, and grandniece Sarah. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Mary Whitford, and grandnephew Jaret Coleman.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 12th, at 2:00pm at Greenwood cemetery, 1603 Greenwood St. Orlando, Fl. 32801 with military honors.
