Joseph R. Long

Long, Joseph R. - Age 54, of Orlando, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2007. Joe was born on September 10, 1952 in Kearny, NJ. He graduated from Queen of Peace High School, North Arlington, NJ in 1970. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Montclair State University in 1976. He received a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He taught high school in West New York, NJ and Parsippany, NJ. He began his professional Theater career with The Summerfun Summer Theater in Upper Montclair, NJ. He worked in New York City, Atlantic City, as well as with traveling productions and regional theaters. He was an Assistant Stage Manager at World Disney World. He has been at Disney since May of 1987. He was a member of the Osceola Community Theater and Summer Camps, LLC of Orlando. He is survived by his son Ryan of Coral Spring, FL, his mother Irma Long of Kearny, NJ, his brothers; Edward and his wife Judi of Needham, MA, James of Brookline, MA, John and his wife Dale of Aldie, VA, His sisters; Frances of Atlanta, Ga, Margaret Cunningham of Keyport, NJ, and Ann and her husband William Testa of Kearny, NJ, His devoted friend, Linda Stein of Orlando, FL. He is predeceased by his father John F. Long, MD, his nephew and godson Keegan Simmons and his niece Victoria Long. He is also survived by 10 nieces, one nephew and two grand nieces. Visitation in Orlando will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Visitation in New Jersey will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007 in the Reid Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 22, 2007 St. Stephens Church, Kearny, NJ. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, NJ.
