Joseph Thomas D'Antonino (SH-2; U.S.N., Ret.)
Born March 10, 1931 in Worchester, MA, Deceased January 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alessandro D'Antonino and Assunta (Dandreta) D'Antonino. He was also preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Connie (D'Antonino) Gralowski, Elvira (D'Antonino) Flynn and Carmela (D'Antonino) Hammond.
He served on many ships during his career, his first being the USS Grand Canyon A0-28 (48-51), Norfolk, VA. Joe and his brother Anthony served on the Canberra and made the world cruise together.
He is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Ruby Lea (Poston) D'Antonino; sons, Joseph Skinner (Martha) of Asheville, N.C. and Thomas Anthony Skinner (Margo) of Orlando, FL; daughter, Donna Marie Worley (Marty) of Columbus, GA; brother, Anthony D'Antonino (Mary) of Worchester, MA; step sons, Richard Sutton (Beverly) of Crystal River, FL, Douglas Sutton; William Parsons (Donna) of Raleigh, N.C.; Eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren an very special friend, Tonia Wheeler.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 5900 Oleander Dr. Orlando. He will receive full Military Honors at the conclusion of the Mass. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando
