Glea was born in Elkhart, Indiana to Fern and William Brubaker. She always went by her middle name, Glea (rhymes with flea), and if it was mispronounced as Glee-ah, she would quickly respond "You don't say flee-ah". She was their third child with Gene and Mary Lee being her siblings.
Her parents owned and operated a restaurant, with their residence above, across from the Elkhart train station. She can remember seeing troops and tanks going through town to support WWII.
Glea married John Francis Lynch in 1952. They moved to Chicago, Illinois where they had their first daughter, Kathleen Garnet, in 1954 and their only son Daniel William in 1957. They returned to Elkhart where their youngest daughter, Patricia Ann, was born in 1959.
The family moved several times living in Niles, Michigan, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Miami, Florida and finally settling in Orlando, Florida.
Her daughter Kathleen married Mike DePierro and had two sons, Christopher and Timothy, giving Glea her first grandchildren. Chris has four children and Tim has one child giving Glea five great grandchildren.
Her son Daniel had one son, Jonathan, giving Glea her third grandchild.
In addition to being a mother, Glea worked many years as a waitress for Woolworth when tips were generally ten percent of the purchase. Working for these quarter and fifty cent tips, she supported the entire family and put her two younger children through college. Her elder daughter later returned to school and became a school teacher.
For hobbies, she was an avid reader and expert cross-stitcher.
Her proudest and happiest job was being a mom - and she was a great mom.
Glea is survived by her daughter Patricia Ann, son-in-law Doug, her grandsons Chris and Tim, and five great grandchildren.
