Pastor Juan Bautista Montañez, a man whose life was dedicated to the service of God and his community, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Known for his kindness, wisdom, and compassion, Juan left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

Juan was born to Aurelia de Jesús on June 27, 1945, in the town of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. His nicknames for family members and friends were Juan, Juanito, Johnny and Papo. At the age of 22, Juan surrendered his life to the Lord in a small church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since then, he showed a deep devotion to faith and a burning desire to serve God and humanity. Around the year 1977, Juan began his ministry as a Pastor through the council of the Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal, Movimiento Internacional.

Juan was a man of profound faith and unbreakable character. His life was a testimony to God's grace, and his ministry was a beacon of light for many.

Ministry and Legacy

For more than 40 years, Pastor Juan established churches and served in various congregations, bringing comfort and hope to many. He was known for his joyful songs and inspiring sermons of faith and hope, making God's word accessible and relevant to all.

In addition to his duties as a pastor, Juan had a deep passion for missions to which he dedicated much of his time.

Retirement and Family Life

Around the year 2020, Juan decided to retire from active ministry but never stopped serving in the calling that God had given him. He continued to serve as an Associate Pastor, offering messages of strength, faith, and hope, and participating in church activities. His unwavering faith and dedication to others continued to be an inspiration to all.

Juan was married to Elsa Lopez for 57 years, and together they had three children: Juan Jr., José M., and Nathan. He was a devoted husband and father and found great joy in his family. His grandchildren will remember him as a loving and wise grandfather who always had time to listen and offer words of encouragement.

Enduring Legacy

Pastor Juan's legacy will endure in the memory of those who had the blessing of knowing him. His life was a testimony of faith, love, and selfless service. His family, friends, and parishioners will remember him with affection and gratitude, and his example will continue to guide many in the years to come.

Final Farewell

The funeral services will be held at the Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal, MI at 2113 N. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32807, on March 26, 2025. The viewing will be at 6:00 pm and the service at 7:00 pm.
