Juan "Nito" Velazquez-Lopez, age 88 of Orlando passed away Sunday, August 13, 2006. He was born in Lares, Puerto Rico and moved to Central Florida in 1984. He retired in 1976 from Banco Popular of Puerto Rico and is survived by his wife, Elba Vazquez; daughters, Maria Eugenia Velazquez-Mercado of Orlando; Elba Iris Velazquez of Orlando and Jenny Rodriguez of Pembroke Pines, FL; sisters, Camelia Velazquez of Puerto Rico, Ana Gonzalez of New Jersey and Herminia Gonzalez of Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Bernard Diaz, Shirley Smith, James B. Martinez, Leslie A. Martinez, Juan Carlos Rodriguez and Jennifer Marie Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in the Chapel of Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00-9:00 PM.
