MORTER, JUDY R., age 69, it is with broken hearts and empty souls that Mimi left this earth on the wings of angels. On Saturday, 9/15/14, our courageous mother lost her extremely short battle with cancer, passing from an anomalous blood clot in her heart.
On April 27, 1945 Judy was born in Dayton, Ohio moving to Titusville, Florida in 1977 where she has resided since, raising her three children. She left behind two daughters, a son, two granddaughters, grandson, great-granddaughter, mother, brother, nephews and their families, and many other family members and friends.
Judy returned to college at age 37 while caring for her children to become a nurse at Parrish Medical Center. She continued her schooling over the years progressing to Administrative Nursing Supervisor while earning her Doctorate in Education to continue her career at the hospital for 30 years. Judy also worked part-time as an Adjunct Professor for UCF teaching clinical nursing students and previously as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Brevard Health Department. She volunteered for the health department for numerous years as well as for the Emergency Response Team, The Childrens' Center and numerous activities and events surrounding organ and tissue donation including starting the first Tiger Team at Parrish.
Our mom was the most patient and giving woman, helping anyone in need. In fulfilling her wishes, our mother graciously donated tissues to the Eye Bank and her body to UCF in hopes of continuing to teach even in her absence. There was never a day that her family did not feel her love. This earth has truly lost its earthly angel.
A covered dish "Bling" celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, 9/27/14 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL.
