Julita Cantillas, age 83 of Orlando, passed away peacefully at the home of her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Mary and Steve Weaver on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. Mrs. Cantillas was born to Arcadio Villaro and Asuncion Opaz on March 6, 1922 in Ft. Stotsenburg, Philippines. She obtained her U.S. citizenship in 1978. She was very patriotic and a devout Catholic. She loved to fish and play majong. Mrs. Cantillas was preceded in death by her husband Jesus Cantillas, who died during the Bataan Death March in World War II. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Wardsworth; her grandchildren Jessie Cantillas, Marie Cantillas, Mary Weaver, Janet Martinez, David Wardsworth; her great-grandchildren Cheryll Dougherty, Valerie Cantillas, Jeffrey Cantillas, Jazmin Martinez; her brothers Augustine Villaro, Ernie Villaro, Rolando Villaro, Tek Villaro; and her sisters Agripina Bayona, and June Villaro. Vistitation for Mrs. Cantillas will be held from 11am-2pm on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, East Orlando. Funeral services will begin at 2pm.
